Sound Isolation Products For Reducing Flanking
Reduce Wall Flanking
Wall sound tests are conducted in environments where flanking does not exist. Flanking in field tests can amount to as much as a 10 point reduction in STC performance. Our newest product, Iso-Sill, is used to isolate sound from flanking between the bottom plate and top plate framing in a wall as well as between where two wall framing angles meet. The Iso-Sill Bushing is used in conjunction with the Iso-Sill product to maintain decoupling with the attaching screw similar to how the GenieClip isolates the clips attaching screw. An alternative to isolating top plate framing is with the resilient clip RSIC-DC04.
