Sound Isolation Products For Doors
Seal the Door
Using solid wood doors or sound core doors is a good start, but if air can travel below the door or around the perimeter of the door then so can sound. As a general rule of thumb, your door needs to be within 10 STC points of your sound rated wall to avoid a major deficiency in your rating. Without the proper seals you will not be able to meet this requirement even on a low rated wall.

Seal the Perimeter Around the Door Jamb
The seals hidden around the perimeter of the door frame are as important as the seals you install against the door. We recommend using a combination of TotalSeal Putty Pads and Green Glue Sealant or Sound Isolation Strip and Green Glue Sealant to create a quality seal between the door jamb and door frame.
